2 injured in drive-by shooting; homes damaged
(FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – The violence has got to stop. That’s the message from neighbors in one Charlotte community after a drive-by shooting that left two people injured.
Two people were shot at Northcross Townhomes on Griers Grove Road Saturday night.
Neighbors said the gunman was hanging out of the back window of a car firing shots. Several vehicles and homes were also struck.
One woman said a bullet came through her front door and two more went into her 8-year-old son’s bedroom. Many people are traumatized saying they don’t want their children living in fear.
“It just seems like it’s getting worse and worse and I’ve only been here two months myself living here,” Lashawna Stevenson said. “So, it’s getting worse now, a bullet coming in my home. What else am I supposed to do? Am I going to be protected, am I going to be moved to another unit? What is going to happen now? So I’m just real nervous.”
FOX 46 Charlotte was told both victims are expected to be okay. So far, no arrests have been made.
