Rainy weekend could bring severe weather to parts of Houston
Another wet weekend is in store for Houston, with showers and thunderstorms expected to pop up over southeast Texas as early as Friday afternoon.
Three separate systems will bring the rain to Houston starting Friday, which kicks off with a weak cold front blowing through the area in the early afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will be “likely” for the area by the late afternoon and early evening, according to National Weather Service meteorologists.

Overnight Friday will be rain-free but still cloudy. That front will then retreat back inland as a warm front Saturday and bring with it more rain and possibly severe weather, including the threat of hail for some areas.
On Sunday, storms are expected to kick back up again with heavy winds and possible hail being the main concern for storms that turn severe. There’s a slight risk of these more severe storms, meaning they will likely be isolated when they crop up, according to NWS.
Early next week will be dry and warm, with a rainy Wednesday. Warmer temperatures reaching close to 90 degrees and dry skies are expected later next week.
