2 Pender County roads closed due to river flooding

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Some roads in Pender County are underwater due to flooding.
James Myers took some photos around 9 a.m. near Croomsbridge Road and Highway 53 showing the road underwater.
According to the the stream gage on the North Carolina Flood Inundation Mapping website, the Northeast Cape Fear River near Burgaw is now reporting ‘minor flooding’.
Pender County Fire Marshal Tommy Batson said Croomsbridge road near the bridge and Old Maple Hill Road near N.C. Highway 50 are both closed due to the flooding.
