Flash flood warning issued for San Antonio and surrounding areas

Don’t think that the dreary weather is all in the rearview mirror, San Antonio.

The latest update from the National Weather Service shows that numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely Friday through Saturday evening in San Antonio and the surrounding areas.

San Antonio and New Braunfels will be under a Flash Flood Watch through Saturday evening. Residents in Bexar and Comal counties should expect heavy rain along and south of I-10. Expected rainfall through Saturday evening is expected to measure between 2 and 4 inches, though isolated amounts of more than 6 inches is also possible.

West and southwest of San Antonio, there will be a chance for thunderstorms producing hail up to one inch in size from Del Rio to Dilley. This update is relevant for Friday afternoon until the evening.

It’s not just our neck of the woods with the less-than-ideal weekend weather. Much of Texas and Louisiana are likely to get multiple inches of rain through Sunday morning.
