CHARLOTTE, N.C. — .Today:

This will be a rain and storm-free day.  Afternoon temperatures will be in the mid 80s, with northeast winds around 5 to 10 mph.  Skies will be mostly cloudy during the evening with a chance of showers after midnight. Lows should be in the mid 60s across the region.

Friday will be our rainiest and stormiest day of the week as a cold front moves through the Carolinas. This will be our best chance for strong-to-severe storms ahead of the front.

Highs will remain in the 80s and that daytime heating with contribute to storm chances.

Mother’s Day Weekend:

Both days of the weekend will feature highs in the mid-upper 70s and it’ll feel more pleasant for outdoor activities. Lows will dip to the low-mid 50s. Although it’ll be cooler than this week, we’ll just be back to average for early May.

Scattered showers and storms will likely linger Saturday due to the front to our south. However, Mother’s Day continues to trend on dry and cooler.
