An outbreak of severe weather brings heavy snow, rain and tornadoes to parts of the United States. Also, for the first time in decades, two people are convicted of conspiring to overthrow the government in a plot ending with the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. The National Weather Service confirmed that several tornadoes had touched down in Mississippi, although it was unclear if there was any significant damage.

The Weather Channel’s Mike Bettes has the forecast as the South faces a tornado outbreak and heavy rains.

At least two tornadoes have touched down in Mississippi as a massive storm system stretching from Texas to South Carolina is expected to produce heavy rains, flood waters and hail. Manuel Bojorquez reports.
