CHARLOTTE, N.C. — At least one person is facing life-threatening injuries after a tree caused extensive damage to a home in south Charlotte Monday morning. Around 6 a.m. during strong winds, a tree fell onto the homes along Countrymens Court. Firefighters searched the debris and rescued at least one person from the damage. About 60 homes were damaged from an explosion at a hydrogen fuel plant near Hickory on Tuesday, Catawba County officials said. The explosion took place at OneH2 in the town of Long View on Tuesday morning. All employees are accounted for, and there were no injuries or fatalities, according to the county.
