CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Thousands of people are still without power Friday after severe thunderstorms rocked the Charlotte area Thursday.  In a text message sent to affected customers Thursday evening, Duke Energy explained, “Today’s severe storms caused significant damage across the Carolinas.
