Police: Man stole elderly woman's purse while helping her at Hurricane Florence shelter
Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for a man accused of robbing an elderly woman at a Hurricane Florence shelter.
Police said Ronald Robinson Jr., 37, stole the woman’s purse after helping her walk to the bathroom at an unnamed shelter.
Robinson later pawned the woman’s jewelry at an area pawn shop, police said.
Robinson is charged with felony larceny, financial card theft and obtaining property by false pretenses.
Robinson was not in custody Wednesday evening and anybody with information about is whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477 or dial 911.
