Houston Forecast: Scattered downpours due to Tropical Storm Hanna in the Gulf

Portions of Galveston County and areas south are under a Tropical Storm Watch due to the possibility of gusty winds and downpours, especially along the coast.
HOUSTON — Thursday was a nice break from the rain, but now we are expecting more widespread showers to move in starting on Friday.
There’s only a 10% to 20% chance for rain throughout the morning Friday. Expect a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms after lunchtime – this afternoon into the early evening.

The rain chances increase again early Saturday morning due to Tropical Storm Hanna, which has shifted south farther away from Houston and closer to Corpus Christi. Get the latest update on the tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico here.
In Houston, we may only get 1″ to 3″ of rain widespread through the weekend. Closer to the coast, we may get 5″ of rain.
Expect scattered downpours through the weekend – a 50% to 60% chance. Showers and storms continue early next week as well.
