As Tropical Storm Beta churned in the Gulf of Mexico on Sept. 21, strong wind and rough surf pounded Galveston, Texas, causing flooding along streets. Accuweather
Tropical Storm Beta made landfall Monday night around 10:00 p.m., according to the National Hurricane Center.
According to the 11 p.m. update, Tropical Storm Beta crossed the Texas coast near the southern end of the Matagorda Peninsula around 10 p.m. and is located around 5 miles north of Port O’Connor and 25 miles south-southwest of Matagorda, Texas.
The storm is traveling northwest at 3 mph and is expected to turn sharply to the north and northeast on Tuesday.
