Texans captured lighthearted rain, panicked flooding in TikTok videos

Most of North and Central Texas was hit with some version of rain in August after a little over a month or more of hot and dry weather. Texans took to TikTok to share their videos of elation, some joking about the rain finally showing up. But then the videos started to show up on TikTok this week as that rainwater couldn’t be absorbed into the drought-ridden ground fast enough.
The videos started off lighthearted around the second week of August, when Central Texas saw some rain. A TikTok from Furious Nae poked fun at that one thing every Texan says when water finally falls from the sky. You know the thing.
