Ripple effect: Severe weather causes 11,000 flight delays nationwide, impacting RDU
Severe weather across the country is causing a number of delays and cancelations at RDU this morning, where as of 6:30 a.m. there have been 19 delays and 5 cancelations.
Those numbers have been rising all morning.
Nationwide, there were over 11,000 delays on Monday morning, with 786 total cancelations.
The impact has been steadily increasing all morning. Only a few hours prior, there were around 9,000 delays, meaning the number of delays jumped by over 2,000 in less than 3 hours.
The ripple effect is impacting flights at RDU and could continue to cause delays throughout the day.
