Debby expected to make landfall overnight, flash flooding in the Cape Fear still a risk

SOUTHEASTERN NC (WWAY) — Tropical storm Debby is expected to make its 2nd landfall along the central South Carolina shore in the overnight hours then continuing northwest Thursday night into Friday morning through central North Carolina.

We’ll continue to see tropical bands of heavy rain rotate in throughout Thursday with a few embedded rotating storms not out of the question. Flash flooding and long-term flooding become major risks with as much as 10″-12″+ falling over the region.

We’ll receive a moderate impact from gusty winds (30-40+ mph) and a risk for a few isolated tornadoes as the eastern bands rotate in through Thursday. Stay with WWAY and StormTrack… your trusted source for information and we will keep you updated.
