NC craft brewers help with Hurricane Helene relief

Breweries across North Carolina are working together to help support those devastated by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina.

Brewers, including those at Rocky Mount Mills, began using their production facilities to package water for transportation west.

“This is going to be a marathon, and we’re going to need everyone’s endurance to rebuild. But, NC craft beer is resilient, and together, brewery by brewery, we can provide critical relief to our WNC community,” said Lisa Parker, executive director of the NC Craft Brewers Guild.

There are 120 breweries located in FEMA-designated North Carolina counties. To assist them and their communities the NC Craft Brewers Guild launched several initiatives including the Pouring for Neighbors: Craft Beer Relief Effort, which invites breweries and craft beer retailers nationwide to designate one of their beers on tap as a “Pouring for Neighbors” beer, with proceeds from pints sold going directly to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, or a relief organization of their choice. Funds raised will help provide immediate assistance to those affected by the storm, including food, water, and emergency supplies.
