Water floods Hillsborough Street intersection in Raleigh Wednesday morning after water main break
A water main break has flooded the intersection at Hillsborough Street and W. Morgan Street in Raleigh Wednesday morning.
The intersection remains closed as crews work to repair the massive hole caused by the break.
The city initially said the repairs would be completed by 4 a.m., but water is still gushing out as of 4:45 a.m.
The city has provided a detour for all traffic traveling east on Hillsborough Street. The road will be closed to eastbound traffic beginning at Ashe Avenue.
Detour:
- Turn right on Ashe Ave.
- Turn left on Wakefield Ave.
- Turn left on Tryon Hills Dr.
- Turn left on W Morgan St.
- Right back onto Hillsborough St.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and take an alternate route.
