Rocky Point wildfire is fully contained

ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY) — As of late Sunday night, the Highway 210 wildfire is fully contained, according to Pender County Emergency Management.
Mapping of the fire shows it has burned 661 acres.
This fire will continue to smoke and smolder until we receive adequate precipitation. The Fire Marshal’s Office will continue to support the county Forest Service as they monitor this fire from the ground and air.
This was a very fast moving fire that required a lot of moving parts.
Pender County Emergency Management says that they were able to protect life, resources, and property without any injuries or homes lost.
Conditions remain favorable for wildfire activity.
