Prepare for hurricane season with the Town of Leland Hurricane Expo

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Leland invites community members to attend the 5th annual Hurricane Expo.
It will take place on Saturday June 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way.
The Hurricane Expo provides residents with an opportunity to learn how to prepare for hurricane season with guidance from local, state, and federal experts, including members from our WWAY weather team.
Workshops will be held at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. One workshop, led by the National Weather Service, will focus on the upcoming hurricane season. Another, led by Town staff, will cover flood zone hazards, stormwater management, and FEMA’s Community Rating System program.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the public safety Q&A roundtable at 12:30 p.m., where representatives from the Town, the National Weather Service, and Brunswick County Emergency Management will answer questions about hurricane preparedness.
