A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes, and you should go over your emergency plans and be prepared to take shelter if a warning happens, according to the NWS. A tornado warning means a tornado has been sighted or indicated by a weather radar, and you should take shelter immediately.
The Austin area could also see strong thunderstorms, hail, heavy rain and damaging winds on Monday overnight into Tuesday.
A level 3 of 5 risk for severe weather was expanded southeast into portions of the I-35 corridor, including the Austin area, from late today through much of the overnight hours. Storms could consist of large to very large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado. #txwx pic.twitter.com/GwrP19xhOE
