Debris clutters the bank of the Guadalupe River after devastating Central Texas floods.
Rescue workers have recovered the body of a missing adult woman in the Kerrville area, dropping the number of people still missing after the catastrophic Central Texas floods to two, Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted Tuesday night.
The discovery leaves one girl from Camp Mystic and one adult male still missing two weeks after the disaster, the governor said.
Last weekend, Kerrville city officials announced that the number of people missing in the flood’s aftermath had dropped from around 100 to just three. The number’s drastic revision came after state and local officials conducted “extensive follow-up work” to track down people reported missing by concerned friends and family.
State and local officials have said they will continue scouring areas affected by the flooding until all missing people are accounted for.
At least 135 people died in the disaster, state officials have said.
