Warf steps down as president of Carolina Hurricanes

Doug Warf is leaving the  Carolina Hurricanes, again.

Warf started his career in sales and marketing for the team, working his way up from 2000 to 2017. After an interlude, he returned as president of Hurricanes Holding, LLC, in July 2024.

Just days before the 2025-26 season opener, the team’s owner, Tom Dundon, announced Warf’s resignation.

“Doug has a passion for the Hurricanes and our market, and we’re grateful for his time with the organization,” Dundon said. “I wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”

Warf thanked the team leadership and said, “I appreciate all that Tom is doing for our area, specifically for the team that I love, and I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. I’m proud of everything we accomplished over the past year off the ice.”

The Canes, who lost to the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final last season, open the season Thursday at home against the New Jersey Devils.
