Where to find sandbags in Southeast Texas in preparation for Hurricane Beryl
In preparation for the storm, Texas Active Governor Dan Patrick has added 81 counties to Hurricane Beryl Disaster Declaration.
BEAUMONT, Texas — As Hurricane Beryl approaches, heavy rain is expected to be the main threat with a band of 3″ to 6″ or more expected across the Southeast Texas area.
In preparation for the storm, Texas Active Governor Dan Patrick has added 81 total counties to Hurricane Beryl Disaster Declaration including:
- Hardin
- Jasper
- Jefferson
- Liberty
- Newton
- Orange
- Tyler
Here’s a list of counties and locations where residents can grab sandbags in the event of flooding. Sand and bags are available at each location, but those in need are encouraged to bring their own shovel.
The list will be updated intermittently as we receive more information from other Southeast Texas counties.
ORANGE COUNTY:
• Precinct 1 County Maintenance barn located on North Highway 87 at North Teal Road
• Precinct 2 11897 State Highway 62 in Mauriceville directly across from Market Basket on Highway 62
• Precinct 3 County Maintenance barn located on 2502 West Roundbunch Road
• Precinct 4 County Maintenance barn located on 375 Claiborne Street
Hamshire and Fannett:
- Jefferson County Precinct 3: 24420 HWY 124, Hamshire, TX 77622
Distribution will begin immediately and continue until supplies are exhausted. Residents are encouraged to take only what they need to ensure that these resources are available for all who require them.
