Autumn with Topsail to go on despite concerns from hurricane
TOPSAIL ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — One of the last big events of the year for Topsail Island businesses will go on despite concerns after Hurricane Florence.
“Hurricane Florence was no match for the volunteers from the Historical Society of Topsail Island,” Pender County Tourism Director Tammy Proctor said.

For the 30th year in a row, art and beach music lovers will gather in Topsail Beach at the Autumn With Topsail Festival. The festival will feature arts and crafts from a variety of categories. Good food and live music will be featured, but the focus is on the art, according to Rick Stidley, Chairman of the AWT festival.
The activities that occurred inside the Assembly Building will not take place this year, due to storm damage. The committee had to make some adjustments to the schedule.
Autumn With Topsail takes place, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 on the grounds of the Historic Assembly Building, 720 Channel Boulevard, Topsail Beach.
Proceeds from the festival go to the Historical Society of Topsail Island, a volunteer non-profit organization which owns and operates the Assembly Building and Missiles and More Museum.
Admission is $5 for adults, or $8 for an adult two-day pass. Children age 12 and under and active-duty military with an ID are free.
