Kerrville Pets Alive! offering stations for people and pets amid flash floods
The Kendall County Shelter will also be open.
SAN ANTONIO — Kerrville Pets Alive! is offering resources to pet owners impacted by the devastating Fourth of July floods.
The organization has set up pet and people stations at Ingram Elementary School, the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department and the Calvary Church in Kerrville. Crates have been taken to the locations to house the pets.
“We’re trying to be the resource for the animals so that first-responders can worry about the people,” officials said in a Facebook post.
“[We’re] trying to fill in the gap for victims that are worried about leaving their pets they know that there’s a safe place for their pets to go.”
According to KPA, if anyone has a pet in need they can call them at 830-200-0539 or email info@kerrvillepetsalive.org. The Kendall County Shelter will also be open. Officials said they can also direct large animal calls to the proper authorities.
On the Facebook page, KPA thanked all of the organizations that helped with the setup.
