Abilene couple missing after flooding in Kerr County, family says

A couple from Abilene is missing after floodwaters hit Kerr County, leaving family seeking public help to find them.
KERR COUNTY, Texas — A couple from Abilene is missing after floodwaters swept through Kerr County Friday morning, their family members told WFAA.
Robert Brake, 67, and Joni Brake, 66, were visiting their youngest son, who lives in an RV near the Guadalupe River, when conditions worsened early Friday morning. The couple was staying in a nearby cabin at the time, the family said.
Family members in Burleson say the couple’s son called Saturday morning to warn them of the rising water. He briefly made contact but hasn’t heard from them since. The family has tried repeatedly to reach the couple’s cell phones—initially, the calls rang, but now they go straight to voicemail.
Relatives are asking for the public’s help in locating the Brakes and hope that sharing their photos might lead to answers. The couple has family in Burleson as well.
