ODESSA, Texas — An Odessa police officer has been confirmed missing on Saturday amid the devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country.
According to the Odessa Police Department, Officer Bailey Martin and some family members had traveled to the Guadalupe River near Kerrville for the Fourth of July holiday. He is one of several people still unaccounted for.
The department asked the public to keep those who have lost loved ones, as well as those still searching for missing individuals, in their thoughts and prayers.
OPD said it has been in contact with local and state authorities in the area and has offered assistance, which was declined at this time as officials believe they currently have adequate resources.
