The Spurs join forces with fellow Texas NBA teams to donate $2 million for Texas flood relief efforts.

SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Hill Country was the scene of devastating flash flooding that saw loss of lives and damage to many cities that will need years to recover from this natural disaster.

To help the area recover from this tragedy, the San Antonio Spurs have joined forces with fellow Texas NBA teams, the Rockets and the Mavericks, along with the National Basketball Players Association and the NBA, to provide financial support for relief efforts in the Hill Country with a $2 million donation.

“The NBA Family is heartbroken by the loss of life and the devastation caused by the flooding across the Texas Hill Country. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the heroic first responders and volunteers. Amid so much sorrow, we are inspired by the strength of the Texas community as it comes together during this incredibly difficult time. In that spirit, the NBA, The NBPA, Dallas Mavs, Houston Rockets, and Spurs are joining together to provide more than $2 million to support immediate and long-term relief to those most impacted.”

The Spurs have always looked out for San Antonio and the surrounding cities in times of need.

In the aftermath of the Uvalde, TX, Robb Elementary mass shooting, the Spurs were there to help the community recover and move forward with a free basketball practice, giveaways, fan-player interactions, and monetary support.

There are many ways for Spurs fans to help out and join the Spurs in this effort.

Two area emergency clinics, located at 101 Wilson Drive, Suite 102 in Floresville, and 4825 FM 3009, Suite 200 in Schertz, are accepting donations of water, non-perishable food, first aid kits, clothing, flashlights, and other essential items through July 10.

Roadmap Brewing Company (723 N. Alamo St.) is accepting donations through Tuesday at its downtown location.

SPURS MINORITY PLEDGES A $1 MILLION DONATION TO HILL COUNTRY FLOOD RECOVERY EFFORTS

Going above and beyond to help those impacted by the Hill Country floods is Spurs minority owner Michael Dell.

Dell shared on social media that he and his wife, Susan, through their family foundation, are committing $1 million to the Texas flood relief efforts.

Susan and I are heartbroken by the devastating floods across Central Texas. We’re committing $1 million through our family foundation to relief efforts.

Our hearts go out to our team members, families, friends, and everyone affected — especially those mourning loved ones and those still awaiting news.

To the first responders and volunteers who are risking everything to save lives and bring comfort, thank you for your courage and dedication.
