Bryan tornado rated EF2
A tornado that tore through Bryan on Wednesday was rated an EF2, according to the National Weather Service.
The twister was reported about 4:45 p.m. along FM 1179 near Steep Hollow, on the east side of the Brazos County town.
The rating means the tornado had winds between 111 and 135 mph.
Video from SKY2 showed significant damage to several buildings in the area. A couple of the buildings appeared to be garages. At least one home appeared to have sustained major damage to the roof.

Bryan was not the only Texas town to have experienced damage from a tornado.
A twister was also reported late Wednesday night in the east Texas town of San Augustine.
Photos sent to KPRC2 of that damage showed a roof that had collapsed at a Family Dollar store. A resident described the damage as extensive.

Both tornadoes were caused by a powerful spring storm system that has since moved east of the region and spawned another cyclone in the northern Louisiana town of Ruston, where two people were killed.
