Tracking the tropics: Hurricane Lorenzo threatens the Açores

WASHINGTON — We’re tracking Hurricane Lorenzo in the tropics.
LORENZO:
Lorenzo was upgraded to a Category 5 hurricane Saturday night. There has never been a hurricane this strong east of 55°W Longitude.
While this is a historically strong storm, it poses very little threat to any land areas at this time. The storm will continue to weaken in the next few days. The storm will impact Flores Island (Açores) as a weaker hurricane Wednesday.
