A tornado watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for many counties surrounding the Houston-area until 3 p.m.:
In southeast Texas, the Tornado Watch is in effect for these following counties.

- Fort Bend
- Galveston
- Grimes
- Harris

- Matagorda
- Montgomery
- Polk
- San Jacinto
- Trinity

Severe storms are expected to fire up today across the Houston area. The storms could bring intense wind, hail and possibly a few tornadoes. Most of the storms will leave the area by 4 p.m. Sunday.
