New models from the National Hurricane Center show Tropical Storm Cristobal is tracking toward Louisiana – and could make landfall there early Monday morning.
Cristobal is currently a depression over the Yucatán Peninsula and is expected to turn north through the Gulf of Mexico toward the United States in the coming days. When it does hit the Gulf Coast, it should only be a tropical storm – with winds up to 39 mph.

Houston will likely be spared from much of the rainfall and heavy winds associated with Cristobal, although there is a small chance of daily showers over the weekend.
Much of the Houston area will experience partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 90s through Monday. Tuesday’s predicted high is 97 degrees.
