Southern Triangle area under Level 1 threat for severe weather
Raleigh, N.C. — Areas south of the Triangle are under a Level 1 risk for severe weather Thursday and Friday.
WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said light rain is possible Thursday morning, but storms in the afternoon and evening could become strong to severe. Although the threat for severe weather is greatest south of the Triangle, everyone has the potential to see storms.
Friday will be a similar story, with evening storms and showers that could become severe across the region.
By the weekend, the chance for storms and rain decreases, but Saturday could see a few stray thunderstorms. Sunday will be mostly dry.
The weekend will be warmer, with highs in the upper 80s or low 90s.
