Flash Flood Warning in effect for parts of Travis, Hays counties

AUSTIN, Texas — A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 11:30 a.m. Friday for Travis and Hays counties.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms stay with us through Saturday. The additional rain and cloud cover keep our temperatures below-average for this time of the year.  Additional rain accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are likely across Central Texas with isolated areas seeing 3 inches or more.

Sunday and Labor Day Monday are trending a bit drier, but don’t rule out a stray shower. 

Models are still hinting at our first significant cold front of the season moving in Tuesday into Wednesday. Rain can be expected Tuesday afternoon ahead of the front. This front could bring our lows down to the 60s Wednesday morning with highs in the 80s Wednesday afternoon. The lower dew points will make it feel more comfortable for the second half of the week.
