Severe weather threat increases across the south

A strong storm system will bring an increased threat of severe weather across the south Wednesday. Here’s the latest severe weather outlook.
There is a high threat of severe storms from Arkansas to Mississippi to Alabama where the risk of tornadoes is also high. Right now, there is a 15% chance of a tornado within the dark red area. While 15% sounds low, for locations in the yellow areas there’s a 2% chance of a tornado.
Remember the tornado safety procedures as Wednesday will be a day to stay weather aware.
There’s also a high risk of damaging winds and hail (30%) in the same area.
Thursday, the severe weather threat shifts across the southeast, including the Charlotte area, where tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail are all possible.
