San Antonio on stand-by to help respond to Tropical Storm Nicholas
SAN ANTONIO — As Tropical Storm Nicholas approaches the Gulf Coast, San Antonians are preparing to lend a helping hand to our neighbors down south.
A spokesperson with CPS Energy said crews are preparing locally for any severe weather that could impact the San Antonio area as a result of Tropical Storm Nicholas, but they don’t have any crews ready to send down south just yet.
Officials with CPS Energy said they are ready to provide what they call “mutual assistance,” but they can’t do so until the local utilities in the path of Tropical Storm Nicholas request their help.
The Salvation Army San Antonio said their mobile feeding truck used to feed storm victims and first responders just returned from a two week deployment in Louisiana after Hurricane Ida.
Officials with Salvation Army SA said they are on stand-by to help with Tropical Storm Nicholas, and the organization has other mobile feeding units along the Texas coast ready to respond.
