Local Raleigh designer creates exclusive jackets for Hurricane family members in 30 days
RALEIGH, N.C. — While many eyes will be on the Carolina Hurricanes players Wednesday night, another look will surely grab the audience’s attention.
A Raleigh designer had the opportunity to design unique handmade leather jackets for family members of the Hurricanes players.
“Each one of the jackets is painted to be unique,” said Jen Stone, designer.
The team players’ wives reached out to Stone in order to help them stand out in the crowd for game night.
“They happened to find me; they reached out, and we connected,” said Stone. “We were able to develop designs together quickly to get them done.”
She was able to fill the request under a tight deadline of making 30 custom jackets in only 30 days for wives, children and other family members.
“I feel like I put a little love into it, and it was just so much fun,” said Stone.
Stone hopes this opportunity allows her to work full-time as a fashion designer.
Her jackets will be on silent auction Wednesday night, have proceeds that will go towards the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.
