Total cost of tornado damage to be determined this week
The recovery process is just beginning for people in Nash and Edgecombe counties after the EF-3 tornado.
On Monday, state officials will be in the area to determine just how much damage it caused and what people need to rebuild.
This damage assessment will likely last until Wednesday. The results of this assessment will determine how much federal and state aid is needed.
The state’s next step is to figure how they can best help people who lost almost everything.
But one of the biggest questions we’ve had since the tornado is: What’s next for Pfizer?
Looking ahead to the future, the state is considering updating building codes to make sure homes are more resilient after storms.
