One person killed during severe weather Wednesday in Gaston County
One person was killed Wednesday as stomrs rolled through southwestern North Carolina.
According to the Gaston County Emergency Management and Fire Services, first responders responded to multiple calls and a tree fell on a car. The New Hope Fire Department was able to get one person out of the car, but one person died.
Gaston County EMS said in total they responded to over 1200 service related calls related to weather.
Severe weather rolled through much of southern North Carolina on Wednesday afternoon and some residents reported quarter-sized hail in Bessemer City.
