WATCH: Video Shows Confirmed Tornado touches down in Columbus County

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A confirmed tornado touched down in Columbus County tonight.
The national weather service confirmed the tornado touched down at 8:06 P.M. and was located near Elkton, 7 miles north of Whiteville, moving east at 25 mph.
The National Weather Service says four homes in Whiteville were damaged by high winds.

Further south-west in Marion, South Carolina, a few large trees blew over in the road from the same storm system.
Some windows blew out of buildings and awnings leveled to the ground.
Police say Main Street to Arch Street will remain closed until further notice.
Witcover Street will be closed from Main Street to the drive through at T-D Bank until tomorrow.
