GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) – Firefighters and police officers duked it out Saturday night at the 10th Annual Galveston Battle of the Badges. The event pits police officers against firefighters in an amateur boxing competition — all for a good cause. Last year’s event was right after Hurricane Harvey and raised over $50,000 for local charities. Hundreds of Texas firefighters started heading to California on Monday morning to help battle wildfires burning in Southern California.  Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Sunday that 200 firefighters, 55 fire engines and personnel from the Texas A&M Forest Service will be on their way.
