Duke Energy crews are preparing for potential power outages ahead of severe weather headed toward the Triangle on Wednesday. Lighter winds Monday helped crews in South Carolina and North Carolina battle wildfires that caused evacuations and threatened hundreds of homes over the weekend. Apex, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes are working to grow hockey in the Triangle. The team and the NHL are building two street hockey rinks at Apex Community Park. Construction is underway.
