BURNET COUNTY, Texas — Thursday’s tornado in Burnet County left a path of destruction more than 3 miles long, according to the National Weather Service. It’s estimated that the tornado started around 4:29 p.m. near County Road 223, about 8 miles southwest of Copperas Cove and ended near Taylor Lane at 4:54 p.m. Officials said the tornado moved erratically along County Road 223 and the Lampasas River before crossing Panther Creek Road and shifting.
