WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) –

WECT will host a telethon Thursday to benefit disaster relief efforts from Hurricane Florence.

100 percent of the monies raised Thursday will go to the American Red Cross. 91 percent of the money given to the Red Cross will be used to help victims of Hurricane Florence.

The WECT telethon will start Thursday at 6 a.m.and continue until 8 p.m. People interested in donating can call in during those hours and make their pledges.

WECT will air the telethon in its entirety on its digital platform. You can go to WECT.com and click on the WECT telethon banner. WECT will also have live coverage of the telethon during all on-air newscasts, starting with Carolina in the Morning at 6 a.m.
