On Thursday’s Houston Matters: As Tropical Storm Barry approaches, New Orleans received some eight inches of rain Wednesday causing street flooding. While Louisiana may have more stormy weather ahead, what about Houston? Meteorologist Jeff Evans from the National Weather Service brings us the latest on the storm and how it might affect Greater Houston.

Also this hour: The New York Times reports Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids are scheduled to begin this Sunday in several major U.S. cities, including Houston. The Times reports ICE agents are targeting at least 2,000 immigrants who have been ordered to be deported. But others could be swept up in these raids as well. We learn why.

Plus: We talk with three domestic violence professionals about what resources are available for victims of domestic violence and what Houstonians’ options are when the law fails to protect them.

Then, a local ophthalmologist answers listener questions about their eyes.
