As Tropical Storm Beta churned in the Gulf of Mexico on Sept. 21, strong wind and rough surf pounded Galveston, Texas, causing flooding along streets. Accuweather
Parts of the Texas coast will continue to see tropical storm conditions Monday afternoon ahead of Tropical Storm Beta’s landfall later in the day.
According to the 1 p.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Beta is located around 45 miles southeast of Port O’Connor and 65 miles south-southwest of Freeport.
The storm is traveling west-northwest at 7 mph but is expected to slow down and turn sharply to the north and northeast on Tuesday.

When is Tropical Storm Beta making landfall?
Beta is expected to make landfall Monday night and weaken once the storm moves inland. The storm is forecast to remain close to the coast of southeastern Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The storm poses a risk of flash, urban and minor river flooding, as well as life-threatening storm surge near times of high tide.
