LIVE BLOG: Flash Flood Warning; stay off the roads if you can

THE LATEST: According to the National Weather Service: “Due to Flash Flood Emergencies in NE Harris County, including Kingwood and Humble, Montgomery County, Liberty County, and Chambers County, Emergency Managers have requested residents in warned areas to stay put and shelter in place.”
A flash flood warning for Harris County has been extended to 1:30 p.m.
PREVIOUSLY: The slow moving rain band associated with Tropical Depression Imelda is now pushing south into the Houston area. This band has brought training heavy rain and storms with life threatening flooding across Beaumont, Chambers County and Liberty County.Northeast Harris County is now in the main flash flooding threat.

Houston’s weather
A Flash Flood Watch continues for all of the Houston area until 7 p.m. Thursday as our grounds are very saturated.
Houston has an 70 percent rain chance Thursday, mostly earlier in the day. Rain chances start to diminish later in the evening and overnight in Friday.
Friday there’s still a 40 percent rain chance.
This weekend temps in the 90s return with some sunshine and a 20 percent rain chance.
