NWS: Severe thunderstorm watch for San Antonio with heavy rain, hail and tornadoes possible

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for San Antonio as the city gets pounded with rain Wednesday morning.
The watch is in effect until 8 a.m., and may bring pockets of heavy rainfall and flooding in the area. Winds up to 40 miles per hour, pea-sized hail and even an isolated tornado are also possible as the storm continues.

The NWS also tweeted that there is low visibility on the roads due to the rain as San Antonians make their way to work.

The showers are expected to last until about noon, then there will be a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms again after 3 p.m.
Tomorrow will be sunny again, with highs up to 72 degrees. San Antonio won’t likely see precipitation again until Sunday night.
