Tropical wave in Gulf could develop into Tropical Storm Hanna

A tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico has an 80% chance of development over the next five days, the National Hurricane Center said Wednesday afternoon.
The wave could develop into a Tropical Storm Hanna within the next few days.
The wave is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The tropical wave is expected to move west-northwestward and bring heavy rainfall to South Texas on Friday and Saturday.
“This disturbance is expected to move over the central Gulf today, and reach the northwestern Gulf on Thursday and Friday,” the National Weather Center said in an advisory.
