Portions of Galveston County and areas south are under a Tropical Storm Watch through the weekend.
HOUSTON — Hanna has now strengthened to hurricane status, becoming the first hurricane of the 2020 season.
Hanna is expected to make landfall south of Corpus Christi midday Saturday.
The Houston area will still see shower and thunderstorm activity but not nearly as much as expected.
Much of this rain will be from the outer bands of Hurricane Hanna.
There was a tornado warning issued for Fort Bend County and Wharton County early Saturday morning. That warning expired at 7:15 a.m.
Expect a 60% chance of rain and thunderstorms after lunchtime into the early evening.
