Live radar: Flash Flood Warning extended in Harris County until 5:45 p.m.

HOUSTON — A Flash Flood Warning has been extended for northeastern Harris County until 5:45 p.m.

Rainfall rates produced ponding on roadways and high water spots prompting the National Weather Service to post the warning.

A Tornado Warning issued by the National Weather Service expired at 3 p.m. It had been in effect for parts of Harris, Galveston, Fort Bend and Brazoria counties. 

Widespread rain and thunder due to a trailing cold front could last all day and into the night.

The wet weather pattern could linger until Saturday, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul. 

While temperatures are mild we are in for unsettled weather lasting into Saturday morning.

Additional rainfall totals could range from 2-5″ or more.

That being said, a Flood Watch is in effect until Noon on Saturday.

The H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade went on as planned, but scattered thundershowers and lightning put a bit of a damper on things.

Dinnertime: Rain continues along with isolated storms. Very heavy rainfall as well.
